Kenneth Petty, husband of Nicki Minaj, has been put under house arrest after violating in terms of his animosity by posting clips that appear to threaten the rapper Offset, who is married to Cardi B.
Cardi B, 30, and Nicki Minaj, 40, are known to be in a long-running animosity, having exchanged numerous changes against one another on internet over the years.
In September 2018, the 2 award-winning musicians were involved in a physical altercation at a New York fashion week party.
The musicians’ spouse have now became headlines of their own.
In a court order filed Wednesday (20 September) in the Central District of California, Petty, 45, was ordered to serve 120 days of home detention.
The house arrest because after he “was recorded on clip making threatening remarks to a special individual while in the company of someone with a criminal record”.
The “special individual” mentioned in the order is the rapper Offset, 31, and the “clip” that asking to a series of messages Petty said to the rapper that appeared on internet on Saturday (16 September).
In the clip that goes viral on internet, Petty and some of his friends are seen outside a New York City hotel where Offset was reportedly staying.
Petty can be heard making some threatening lines, additionally: “Plan that vacation, you gonna be planning your death p***y!”
The clips are in violation of the terms of his probation.
Petty was sentenced to 3 years probation in July 2022 later he plead guilty to failing to filed as a sex offender in California in 2020.
Petty was convicted for the 1st-degree attempted rape of a 16-year-old girl in 1995. He spent 4 years in jail in New York.
Offset appeared unbothered by the threatening remarks, brushing them off in a clip in which he told: “I’m getting off a jet. He’s lame.”
Offset, formerly of the Atlanta rap group Migos, is the spouse of Grammy-winning rapper Cardi B. The duo married in 2017 and have 2 children: a daughter, Kulture, and a son, Wave Set Cephus.
Petty married Grammy-winning rapper Nicki Minaj in 2019. They welcomed a son in September 2020.
Troubles between Minaj and Cardi B headed a high at a New York fashion week party in 2018.
Video from the event showed Cardi B lunging towards someone and being held back. Other clip showed her being escorted out of the event by security.
Cardi B shared a message on her Instagram the next day which seem to be aimed at Minaj, saying: “When you mention my child, you choose to like comments about me as a mom, make comments about my ability of my daughter is when all bets are f***in off!! I’ve worked to hard and come too long to let anybody f*** with my success!!”
Minaj also said she was “mortified” over the incident and discarded Cardi B’s allegations.
She refused insulting Cardi B as a mom, saying: “I would never said about anyone’s kid or parenting. I don’t care about anyone’s parenting.”
