Meagan Monique Good, is an American Actress. She, rise to prominence after her portrayal in, Eve’s Bayou in 1997, earlier to landing the role of Nina in the Nickelodeon sitcom Cousin Skeeter in 1998-2001. She, has received many awards for her performance in the movie Deliver Us From Eva in 2003, Roll Bounce in 2005, and Stomp The Yard in 2007.
She appeared in a movie, Think Like A Man in 2012. In year 2012, Meagan, portrayed Joanna Locasto, the lead role on the NBC drama series Deception, and also she starred, in the comedy Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues. She also played the supporting roles in the movie, One Missed Call in 2008, Saw V in 2008, The Unborn in 2009 and DC Comics’ Shazam! In 2019 and returned for the character Darla Dudley in Shazam! Fury Of The Gods in year 2023. Good is an amazing actress.
Good was born in Panorma City neighborhood of L.A. Her Mom, Tyra Wardlow-Doyle, she was the Good’s manager into the teens, and her father, Leondis “Leon” Good is an LAPD police officer. Good has claimed that her maternal grandma is “Jewish and African. My mother’s father was Cherokee and whatever else.
My father’s Mother Puerto Rican and Black, and his dad was from Barbados. She was grown in Canyon Country, California. She has three siblings, including older sister and fellow actress La’Myia Good. She began her career of acting when she was just Four years old.
While In an interview she stated, she grew up, Super Nerdy, Super Skinny, buck teeth, huge ole afro and yet I had a sense of Confidence about myself, like, ‘they just don’t get it yet. She was a fan of Justin Timberlake and Usher in her Teens. Until early adulthood, she didn’t have any character models, when she began admiring actress Charlize Theron.
Good started her career, she worked as an extra on TV shows such as, Doogie Howser, M. D. And Amen. When she was 13 year old, Good was cast in her 1st film, in 1995 comedy film, Friday.. The times when she, gained critical recognition for her portrayals as the troubled teen Cisely Batiste in Kasi Lemmons’ 1997 film Eve’s Bayou, she won two award nominations, including her first NAACP Image Award nomination.
She appeared in small movie and TV portrayal for the next few years, she began to transition into more mature role in the early 2000s. She believes that she was able to move into adult roles many years younger than her. In year 1998-2001, she appeared as Nina on Nickelodeon’s TV show Cousin Skeeter.
A major year for Good, in 2003, she began doing character in action-drama Biker Boyz and the romantic comedy Deliver Us From Eva, which helped her transition from childhood to adult actress. She also did the character Vanessa for one season of My Wife And Kids, earlier being replaced by another actor.
She also starred in year 2004, Jordana Brewster, Sara Foster, and Jill Ritchie in the action film D. E. B. S. and won a Best Actress nomination at the 2005 Black Movie Awards. She also starred in small role in The Cookout, Lance “Un” Rivera’s directional debut, and the teen dance film, You Got Served.
Good was also part of the Ensemble Cast in 2012’s Think Like A Man, which is super hit movie. A film which is based on Steve Harvey’s in 2009 book Act Like A Lady, Think Like A Man. In year 2013, she appeared in Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues. She back to TV shows from January to March 2013, Starring in Deception.
She was contacted by her agents about the series while leaving a hair salon. She mentioned once, Good sat in her car, and cried for half an hour like a nerd, by myself. In year 2014, she reprised her role for Think Like A Man Too, the sequel to Think Like A Man. She told she had a really great time, when she was filming the sequel after intially being nervous, because there’s so much power that just Vegas can give. At the timing filming Think Like a man Too was her first time in Las Vegas shortly before she got married.
Good also appeared in some music albums, by artists as 50 Cent, 21 questions, Imajin, Isyss, Lil’ Johnny, Memphis Bleek, Will Smith and Tyrese. Good also had her own production company, Freedom Bridge Entertainment, with Marlon Olivera and fellow actors Tamara Bass and Ty Hodges.
She wore a Royal Blue dress which was designed by Michael Costello to the June 30, 2013 BET AWARDS, ceremony. The dress featured a plunging neckline down to her midriff and a front slit that rose to in the middle-thigh, it was sometimes compared to the Green Versace Dress by Jennifer Lopez to the 42nd Annual Grammy Awards in 2000.
Her dress was controversial also because She was presenting the BET Award for Best Gospel Artist. As per to Christine Thomason of The Christian Post, Good has a history of defending her stylistic choices of presenting herself as a “sexy Christian”. Good stated prior the same year, There is Classy path to do everything and there’s nothing bad with being sexy or having sex appeal and I think that I’m truly going to be someone who is boldly going to go out to the masses and be someone who says, Look, Women it’s okay.
She grew up as a Christian, she said while an interviews that she rejected roles that she felt, disappoint God. She said in an interview that Jesus on tops list of heroes, and the last book she genuinely read was the Bible.. She began dating DeVon Franklin in 2011, an executive for Columbia Pictures and 7th day Adventist preacher. She engaged in 2012, and got married June 16, 2012, at Triunfo Creek Winery in Malibu, California. Good and Franklin were divorced after 10 years of marriage. Their divorce was finalized in June 2022.
