Keke Palmer Early Life

Lauren Keyana “Keke” Palmer was born in August 26, 1993. She is an American Actress, a singer and TV celebrity. Palmer is famous for playing main characters, in comedy and drama productions, she has recieved so many awards, such as Primetime Emmy Award, five NAACP Image Awards and nominations for a Daytime Emmy Award and a Screen Actors Guild Award. Time magazine included her name into their list of most Influential people in the world in the year 2019.

She began her career by Barbershop 2: Back In Business in the year 2004. After she came in the TV shows, The Wool Cap in 2004, and portrayed in drama movies like Akeelah And The Bee in 2006. Keke’s first studio album, So Uncool  was appeared in 2007, and she progressed as a child Actress with the portrayal in Madea’s Family Reunion in 2006, Jump In, in 2007, The Longshots in 2008, and Shrink in 2009.

Palmer, portrayed many characters on Nickelodeon channel, such as the Title role in the sitcom True Jackson, VP 2008-2011, providing the voice of Aisha in the Nickelodeon revival of Winx Club in 2011-2014, and headlining the TV film Rags in the year 2012.

Palmer made her transition to adult character with the VH1 biographical movie, which was titled as, CrazysexyCool: The TLC Story In 2013. In the year 2014 to 2015 she starred as Ella in Rodge + Hammerstein’s Cinderella on Broadway. She also appeared in TV shows, such as Fox satirical horror series scream Queens in year 2015 to 2015, the Epic drama series Berlin Station in year 2017 to 2019, the Slasher series Scream in 2019, and the Facebook Watch series Turnt Up With The Taylors in 2021 for which she has recieved a Primetime Emmy Award.

She also appeared in films like, Animal in the year 2014, Pimp in 2018, Hustlers in 2019, and Jordan Peele’s Nope in 2022. Keke is a very brilliant women.

Keke was born on August 26, 1993, in Harvey, Illinois and raised in nearby Robbins Illinois. Keke grew up in a Catholic household. Her mother and father named, Sharon and Lawrence “Larry” Palmer, they met at drama school, they two worked as professional actors prior settling into full-time jobs. Her father works for a polyurethane company, and her mother is a high school teacher who works with autistic kids.

Her father was a Catholic deacon, the nickname “Keke” is not a shortening of “Keyana” according to Palmer, her name appeared because her elder sister had an imaginary friend who’s name was Keke before she was born. Palmer first sang in a church and performed at a stage show at a Chicago tourist destination. In 2002, Palmer Auditioned for a stage production of The Lion King at the very young age of 9 year old.

Palmer revealed in a interview that she was intrested in acting from her childhood. In 2004, she began her movie career by gaining her debut film role in Barbershop 2: Back In Business. In year 2005, Palmer signed a contract with Atlantic Records. The same year, she was featured in the TV movie, Knights of the South Bronx, as well as starring in the TV dramas , Second Time Around and ER.

That exact year, producer Ralph Farquhar supported Palmer book the starring role in a Disney Channel Pilot titled Keke and Jamal. The pilot was not picked up, and never released.

In 2006, she had her acting breakthrough starring in the film Akeelah and The Bee, playing the Titular Akeelah, a bright 11-year old who comes from a poor family and also her neighbour and competes in the Scripps National Spelling Bee. Moira Macdonald of The Seattle Times has written to Palmer : “Makes an appealing heroine”.

Keke is also very kind-hearted and sweet she took care of people around her, she works with the Boys and Girls Clubs of the American Charity cool to be smart program, talk to kids over the importance of learning. Palmer is also a supporter of urban farming and the Girl scouts. Keke also worked with the YWCA and saving our daughters.

In 2010, keke has been a representative for the saving our daughters project, an anti-bullying campaign. Palmer is the supporter of black people rights, she’s the supporter of Black Lives Matter. Times magazine mentioned her name in 100 Next list in November 2019. In which spotlight 100 rising stars who are shaping the career of business, entertainment, sports, politics, science, health and so on.

She marched in Hollywood California, in 2029, as part of the George Floyd Protest. Same year, keke mentioned the movement during her opening monologue at the 2020 MTV VIDEO MUSIC AWARDS. Keke, told that she doesn’t like that her sexuality explained by labels and told that people should be fluid with labeling themselves, as their identifies could change.

Keke, struggled with depression,anxiety in 2019, because of the You know me campaign, she revealed through her social media handle that she had an miscarriage when she was 24 year old. Keke has been facing with Polycystic ovary syndrome her whole life. My first question was, Will I ever have kids?.

Our God always has the last say to, so I know when my time will come and it will be of my greatest testimonies. Keke was able to expecting with PCOS, gives me hope in knowing that I can have the baby myself.

While, hosting Saturday Night Live on December 3, 2022, keke broke the news that she was expecting her first baby with her boyfriend named, Darius Jackson. Their son was born on February 2023.

Keke and her boyfriend Darius Jackson are officially parents. The duo shared the news of their first new-born, who is a baby boy they named him “Leodis Leo Andrellton Jackson”, on their Instagram. They also shared slideshow of their adorable baby boy from her and her boyfriend Darius Jackson first 48 hours with the baby.
